Külli Kingo (F) is professor and head of the Department of Dermatology, University of Tartu and head of the Dermatology Clinic of the Clinics of Tartu University.
Since 2012, she has served as vice dean for Science in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tartu.
Külli Kingo is the Board Member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and representative of Estonia in the UEMS Section of Dermatology and Venereology.
Her research activities focus on defining the environmental and genetic determinants of inflammatory and pigmentary skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and vitiligo.
The goal of the Dermatology group led by Prof. Kingo is identification of novel diagnostic and prognostic markers and drug targets for better handling of chronic inflammation, including inflammatory skin diseases.
Prof. Kingo has been an investigator on over 20 phase II and III clinical trials in psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
She has published 100 scientific papers and her h-index is 17.
In 2016 Külli Kingo was awarded an Estonian Government Research Award in Medicine for the work “Pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory skin diseases”.
